Embrace The Power Of The Moon!
The moon has long been thought to have a powerful influence, not only does it’s gravitational pull effect the Earth’s oceans and tides, it is believed to influence both our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing as well, which is why so many people may describe themselves as being ” Moon sensitive”.
Each Phase of the moon brings with it a different energy, and by understanding the energy and embracing it you can begin to work with it to your benefit.
The Moon takes 27.3 days to orbit the Earth but there are actually 29.5 days between each New Moon, during which the Moon moves through 8 phases, each of these phases lasts only a few days. A New Moon occurs when the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth.
Lets take a closer look at the Moons cycle and what each phase can mean for us.
The new moon is the start of the lunar cycle, it represents beginnings and is a great time to set intentions for the coming month and get clear about your goals, you may find yourself feeling less sociable during a new moon as this is a time for inner reflection and focusing on your own needs and desires, you may also feel more tired and lacking motivation.
Waxing Crescent Moon
This is the second phase of the moon and is a time for action, its a great time to meet new people, take up a new hobby or start working on your goals, projects and the intentions you created under the new moon. You may also experience an increase in energy and your appetite.
First Quarter Moon (Half Moon)
This Moon Phase can bring challenges, obstacles and the need for making decisions, the best thing you can do during this moon phase is to try and be as flexible as possible, whilst remaining true to yourself and focused on your goals, focus and determination are important during this phase.
Waxing Gibbous Moon
The energy of the Waxing Gibbous Moon can cause us to re-evaluate, to see which areas of our life might need a few adjustments and what we may need to give up in order to reach our goals. Don’t be surprised if you suddenly decide to change direction during this moon phase, it’s also good to take some time to relax and have fun during this phase.
The Moons energy is at it’s peak during this phase and can heighten people’s emotions and intuition, so it’s good to be mindful of this when interacting with others and try to avoid any unnecessary tensions. If you have been working towards achieving something since the New Moon then you should start to see some benefits with the Full Moon energy, this is also the time for new opportunities and things being revealed.

Waning Gibbous Moon
The Waning Gibbous Moon is the time for sharing and communicating, you may find you have less energy during this moon phase which makes it a great time to relax and spend time with those close to you. It’s also a good time to think about trying to stop any bad habits or negative thinking.
Last Quarter Moon
This Moon phase encourages us to reflect, release and forgive, its the time to take responsibility, tie up any loose ends, forgive what needs to be forgiven and let go of anything that has been holding you back especially any fears or self doubt, its also a good time to start decluttering your space in order to make room for new energy.
Waning Crescent Moon
This is the last Moon phase. We can find ourselves feeling a bit depleted or exhausted during this phase, however its a good time to reflect on the last month and to think about your goals and intentions. This phase is also the time to think about any necessary adjustments that may be needed for the coming Moon Cycle. This isn’t usually the best time to take action though, it is much better to use this time to reflect, prepare and recharge.
